"Ocno Archipelago": platforms on the water surface enchanting Mantua

(Mantova, 12 September 2016) - The Ocno Archipelago - an installation by the architect Joseph Grima placed on the Lago Inferiore in Mantua - is made up of seven islands having different diameters and connected to each other, covering a total surface of 800 square meters.
The work, whose shape recalls the lotus flowers that bloom in summer around the town, is movable and destined to turn the lakes shaped by the river Mincio into a unique stage.
The installation was named after the demigod Ocnus, son of Manto and of the god of the river, who built a  town on the river Mincio in honor of his deceased mother. The program includes guided visits, didactic initiatives and performances on the platform: all the information are published on the website of Mantua Italian Capital of Culture 2016 www.mantova2016.it. For further information and bookings: Infopoint Casa di Rigoletto ph. +39 0376.288208.
