The Rivalta Park Centre and Ethnographic Museum of the River Trades is located in the Corte Mincio area, a unique environmental, tourist and educational site in the province of Mantua and one of the most interesting in Lombardy.
The area, which overlooks the Mincio river, is considered to be the heart of the Valli del Mincio Nature Reserve, a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention, formed by extensive reed beds, sedge grasslands and a dense network of canals. It is one of the largest inland wetlands in Italy, the perfect habitat of many species of birds that nest and winter here, as well as a Site of Community Importance of the Natura 2000 Network and a Special Protection Area.
